Pygeum – pygeum africanum. Pygeum is an evergreen tree native to Africa. Much of the research into its benefits has focused on the treatment of benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH). In numerous studies pygeum has demonstrated marked improvement in both prostate enlargement and prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate), with no apparent side effects.
